Egis Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to deliver major highway schemes on the M25 under CPS. You will lead project managers, manage cost, risk and schedule, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across a 30-year contract framework.

Based in the UK with hybrid working from key sites, including South Mimms, you will drive performance, safety and value while coordinating interfaces with design teams and external resources.

Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering highways construction & maintenance operations.
  • Project management qualifications (PRINCE2, APMP or equivalent).
  • HNC/HND or higher in civil engineering or construction discipline.
  • Understanding of environmental requirements of schemes.
  • Coordination with design teams and external resources.
  • H&S and CDM compliance understanding.

Responsabilités

  • Operate as Portfolio Manager in absence and lead multiple project managers.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and report delivery performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the DBFO contract and manage risks and issues.
  • Identify risks, dependencies and constraints; implement mitigation actions.
  • Oversee master programmes and portfolio income/cost profiles.
  • Chair regular project reviews and manage change control processes.
  • Allocate projects to PMs based on knowledge and workload.
  • Travel to other offices and perform periodic site visits (night shift).

About the Role

The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.

We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract and looking for a Senior Project Manager to deliver project objectives across sex key areas of performance; Health & Safety, Quantity, Cost, Environment, Delivery & People.

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a strong project background to join this fast-paced team to deliver the complex highways schemes throughout their whole project lifecycle. Schemes range in value from £20k to £3m+. This role will also involve direct line management of project managers, assistant project managers and early careers. Other requirements also include the successful delivery of the programme of works on time and to budget.

Key responsibilities / duties:

  • To operate in the capacity of the Portfolio Manager in their absence
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager, and key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure full mutual understanding of the projects’ delivery objectives, to report on and review project performance, and to agree solutions to issues.
  • Maintaining compliance with the DBFO contract clarifying roles and responsibilities within your team, resolving risks and issues in a timely manner, producing timely and accurate reports, and creating and maintaining specified records including change management.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary develop, agree, and implement solutions to overcome these.
  • Global or master programme maintenance for whole portfolios
  • Portfolio income and cost profiles, overseeing and challenging the Project Managers input.
  • Client liaison on a project and portfolio level
  • Chairing and driving regular (fortnightly) project reviews to ensure the following are current and live:
    • Project and division risk register
    • Project risk category (on financial spreadsheet)
    • Review submissions register.
    • Review of AWN Correspondence Register progress comments and milestone dates
    • Project income and cost forecast (review of PM profiles)
    • Project change
    • Project priorities (for resource allocation)
    • Manage correspondence and queries through Aconex.
  • Project change control and reviewing processes and procedure
  • Allocation of projects to PMs based on appropriate knowledge, experience, ability, and capability (workload)

Working arrangements (shift work, need for travel etc)

  • Ability and willingness to travel to other offices and depots on the network as and when required
  • Periodic requirement for site visits (night shift)
  • Full Driving License
What do we need from you

Qualifications/ skills:

  • Experience in the delivery of highways construction & maintenance operations or similar transferable experience
  • Project Management skills, preferably supported by recognised PM qualification, PRINCE2, APMP etc.
  • Preference of minimum HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a civil engineering or other construction-based discipline.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of other design areas.
  • Understanding of Environmental requirements of schemes
  • Experience of coordinating interfaces with design teams and external resources
  • Understanding of H&S Requirements related to highway construction & maintenance works.
  • Knowledge of CDM and other H&S legislation
  • Competent in exercising the duties under CDM.
  • Applicable CSCS Card
  • Team leadership and management experience in driving performance and productivity
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong customer focus with a service delivery mindset
  • Commercial understanding and budgetary control experience
  • Understanding of Lean principles

Experience:

  • Experience at a senior level in the delivery of highways construction & maintenance operations or similar transferable experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role with demonstrable competence in relation to the majority of the responsibilities listed above.
  • Experience of managing projects through complete lifecycle
