Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Energy unit (Nuclear, Defence and Civil). You will lead multidiscipline teams, set project execution strategy, and deliver complex, highly regulated projects in line with company procedures.

You will interact with clients, manage scoped budgets and schedules, and ensure safety and compliance across the project lifecycle. This role offers hybrid working and opportunities to advance within a global engineering consultancy.

Qualifications

Demonstrated success managing outcomes of complex projects in regulated industries (preferably nuclear).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Eligibility to apply for and obtain Security Clearance.
Degree or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline or project management.
Professional accreditation with a recognised body (e.g., APM, RICS).

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a capable integrated project team.
Develop and execute strategies to meet project baselines.
Lead delivery to meet scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements.
Provide timely project performance updates and reports.

Overview Of The Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Energy Unit within the Nuclear; Defence and Civil division. This is a technical project management role within the nuclear industry, offering the opportunity to lead multidiscipline teams and deliver projects safely and effectively in line with company procedures. We are looking for someone with project management experience in infrastructure and regulated environments that will be responsible for setting the project execution strategy, ensuring business risks are mitigated, and delivering on established goals and objectives within the agreed baseline.

This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage multidisciplinary teams, interact with clients, and ensure the seamless execution of complex, highly regulated projects in the nuclear sector.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

Build and maintain a capable and effective integrated project team

Provide accurate and timely project performance updates and reports

Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity

Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, legislation, and engineering standards

Work closely with project and engineering managers, as well as other project disciplines

Foster and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally
