Job summary

MWH Treatment seeks a Senior Project Manager for Manchester & Wigan with hybrid working. You will report to the Operations Manager / Framework Director and drive execution of projects in line with company strategy.

Lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage safety, client relationships, and contract governance while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high customer satisfaction. A degree in construction/engineering with PMQ or equivalent, strong communication, and experience in NEC/IChemE

Qualifications

• PM experience managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects in water industry.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in construction, commercial, or engineering.
• PMQ or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent oral and written communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Delivery-driven with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to target time, cost and quality.
• Extensive experience in project delivery.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts; negotiation and administration.
• CDM and construction Health & Safety knowledge.
• Risk & Opportunities Management experience.
• Ability to present at MWHT Governance Reviews.
• Positive, solution oriented approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and delivery quality across direct and subcontracted work force.
• Ensure that the BMS is implemented at all stages from tender handover to final completion.
• Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
• Maintain the company’s reputation with joint venture partners and suppliers.
• Ensure sufficient trained personnel are available and aware of responsibilities.
• Plan projects and monitor delivery against the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
• Prepare and approve detailed construction plans and method statements.
• Ensure records referred to in the PEP are complete at contract completion.
• Manage commercial aspects with accurate forecasts and estimates.
• Understand and implement Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets.
• Satisfy customer requirements to enhance perception and satisfaction.
• Maintain knowledge of technical disciplines in water and waste water design and build projects.
• Have working knowledge of project management practices from conception to user acceptance.
• Participate in external networking/conferences to stay current on industry changes.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Delivery team with a Senior Project Manager based in Manchester & Wigan with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Operations Manager / Framework Director and you will be Responsible for theoverall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control andcompletion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy byplanning and evaluating project activities, within the time required and withinthe tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of allconcerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force
• Ensuring that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, i.e from tender handover to final completion
• Maintain good client relationships at all levels
• Maintain the company’s reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers
• Ensuring that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities
• Planning projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects
• Ensuring that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement of activities
• Ensuring at contract completion that all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available
• Ensuring that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified
• Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates
• Understanding and implementing the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets
• Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers’ perception and satisfaction
• Maintain an appropriate practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water and waste water design and build projects.
• Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance
• Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/ associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations
• Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
• In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.

Essential:

Project Management experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry .Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline.Project Management Qualification (PMQ)or equivalentExcellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users .Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.Extensive experience in project deliveryStrategic, operational, technical and management skillsKnowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with ability to negotiate and administerAbility to present at MWHT Governance Reviews in a leading capacityRisk & Opportunity Management experienceMaintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
