Job summary

SoCode Limited is partnering with a Cambridge-based technology company developing advanced industrial systems for high-performance manufacturing. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead delivery of engineering, CAPEX and continuous improvement projects, sitting in the operations function and linking engineering teams, business stakeholders and external suppliers.

You will take projects from definition through to completion, maintain scope, cost and timelines, apply agile methods

Qualifications

• 5-8 years' project management experience delivering technical projects.
• Technical background to work closely with engineering teams.
• Experience applying agile methods within a structured delivery environment.
• Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Focus on on-time, on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of technical projects across operations and engineering.
• Define project scope, goals, timelines and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Maintain project plans, risk registers, resource requirements and financial forecasts.
• Act as primary contact, communicating technical concepts clearly.
• Work with engineering teams to shape solutions and meet standards.
• Champion technical documentation and change control.
• Bring agile methods into a stage-gated delivery framework.
• Identify and manage risks and issues before they affect delivery.
• Coordinate third-party vendors and suppliers when input is required.
• Drive continuous improvement in project outcomes and delivery processes.

Socode are partnering with a Cambridge-based technology company developing advanced industrial systems used in high-performance manufacturing environments. As they invest in their operational capability, they're looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead delivery of a growing portfolio of engineering, CAPEX and continuous improvement projects. Sitting within the operations function, this role is the link between engineering teams, business stakeholders and external suppliers. You'll take projects from definition through to completion, keeping scope, cost and timelines under control throughout.

What will you be doing?

• Managing end-to-end delivery of technical projects across operations and engineering
• Defining project scope, goals, timelines and deliverables with input from key stakeholders
• Maintaining project plans, risk registers, resource requirements and financial forecasts
• Acting as the primary point of contact for your projects, communicating technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
• Working with engineering teams to shape solutions and ensure relevant standards are met
• Championing technical documentation and driving robust engineering change control
• Bringing agile ways of working into an established stage-gated delivery framework
• Identifying and managing risks and issues before they affect delivery
• Coordinating third-party vendors and suppliers where projects require external input
• Driving continuous improvement in both project outcomes and delivery process

What are they looking for?

• 5-8 years' project management experience delivering technical projects
• A technical background, with the credibility to work closely with engineering teams
• Experience applying agile methods, ideally within a wider structured delivery environment
• Strong organisation, planning and prioritisation skills, with genuine attention to detail
• Confident stakeholder management and clear written and verbal communication
• Practical problem-solving approach and a focus on on-time, on-budget delivery

Nice to have

• Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline
• PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification
• Experience with Jira and MS Project (onsite training available)
• Exposure to CAPEX projects, continuous improvement programmes or manufacturing operations
