Job Title : Senior Project Manager - Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (M&E Building Services)

Location : London

Contract Type : 6-Month Contract (Outside IR35 - Ltd Company or Umbrella)

Day Rate : £550+ per day, depending on experience

Start Date : ASAP

On-Site Requirement : Minimum 3 days per week

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a high-profile public sector decarbonisation scheme focused on mechanical and electrical (M&E) building services installation across London. This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong leadership, technical oversight, and stakeholder management in complex, live environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of M&E building services installation projects
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and public sector stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability targets, building regulations, and health & safety standards
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting frameworks
  • Lead site activities and resolve technical and logistical challenges
  • Operate effectively within live environments, including healthcare settings
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience delivering M&E building services projects
  • Demonstrated success managing construction works within live hospital environments
  • Strong understanding of public sector project governance and decarbonisation initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding
  • Willingness to work on-site in London at least 3 days per week
  • Eligible to work via Ltd Company (Outside IR35) or Umbrella
Desirable
  • Experience with government-funded sustainability or energy efficiency programmes
  • Familiarity with PSDS, Net Zero Carbon strategies, or similar frameworks
