We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing construction consultancy team in Devon.

The role is ideal for someone with 2+ years' PQE in consultancy project management who is ready to take on greater responsibility, client-facing opportunities, and high-profile projects.

About the Role
  • Lead projects end-to-end, from inception to completion.
  • Deliver projects across multiple sectors including commercial, residential, education, heritage, and public/private schemes.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and value engineering to ensure profitability and quality.
  • Oversee contract administration (NEC, JCT, or other forms) and ensure commercial success.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Report progress, challenges, and strategies clearly to leadership and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Drive project delivery and performance across multiple projects.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to prevent impacts on timelines or budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, health & safety, and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Lead teams through change while maintaining focus, morale, and alignment with business goals.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to professional development within the team.
Skills Required
  • Minimum 2 years' PQE in consultancy construction project management.
  • MCIOB, MRICS, APM qualification, or clear commitment to achieving chartered status.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and maximizing profitability while delivering quality.
  • Experience with NEC, JCT, or other contract forms.
  • Proficient in Asta Powerproject or MS Project advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of inspiring teams while driving project performance.
