Job summary

Sovos is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise SaaS implementations across Europe, based in the UK, NL, or Spain. You will manage multi-country deployments, serve as the main client contact, and govern projects with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, value-driven outcomes.

You will coordinate Solution/Technical Consultants, SAP experts, and Product teams, driving risk management, scope discipline, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Delivered enterprise SaaS implementations in a client-facing Professional Services environment (tax/e-invoicing/regulatory tech).
• Managed complex multi-country deployments across time zones with enterprise clients.
• Experience with retainer-based engagements, scope management, and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery for enterprise e-invoicing and tax implementations across multiple EMEA countries.
• Be primary contact and escalation point for client stakeholders through engagement lifecycle.
• Lead project governance with regular status meetings and steering sessions.
• Manage scope rigorously; document and drive change orders; track hours vs. retainer balances.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources (Solution/Technical Consultants, SAP, Regulatory, Product).
• Develop and maintain project plans, risks, issues, and status reports; surface risks early.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery methodologies and templates.

The Role

At Sovos, we're building the future of tax compliance technology across Europe. We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our European Professional Services team, with the ability to be based in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, or Spain. This is a senior delivery role for someone who understands the complexity of enterprise SaaS implementations and brings deep familiarity with tax compliance, e-invoicing, or regulatory technology. You'll own end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-country implementations for enterprise clients across EMEA, operating with autonomy and directly impacting client satisfaction and the reputation of Sovos Professional Services in Europe.

More specifically, you will:

• Own end-to-end project delivery for enterprise e-invoicing and tax compliance implementations across multiple EMEA countries simultaneously.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for client stakeholders, from project teams to executive sponsors, throughout the engagement lifecycle.
• Lead structured project governance, including weekly status meetings, monthly steering committee sessions, and go/no-go decision processes, in alignment with Sovos delivery methodology.
• Manage project scope rigorously; identify, document, and drive change orders when client requests exceed agreed statement-of-work boundaries, and track project hours against retainer balances.
• Coordinate cross-functional Sovos resources (Solution Consultants, Technical Consultants, SAP specialists, Regulatory, and Product teams) to deliver against project commitments.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, issue logs, and status reports; proactively surface risks and drive resolution before they become escalations, leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and insights where appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Professional Services delivery methodology, statement-of-work templates, onboarding playbooks, and project governance frameworks based on insights from your client portfolio.

What You Bring to Sovos

• You've successfully delivered enterprise SaaS implementations in a client-facing Professional Services environment, particularly in the tax compliance, e-invoicing, VAT, or regulatory technology space.
• You've successfully managed complex, multi-stakeholder implementations with enterprise clients (500M+ revenue) across multiple countries and time zones concurrently.
• You have hands-on experience with retainer-based Professional Services engagements, including scope management, change order discipline, and hour burn-down governance.
• You're an exceptional stakeholder manager, able to build trust with client executives and navigate competing priorities without losing delivery momentum, and you bring strong commercial acumen around project delivery, revenue recognition, and margin.
• You're a proactive risk manager and clear, structured communicator (written and verbal), capable of adapting tone and detail level for technical teams, client project managers, and executive sponsors alike, and you're comfortable operating with ambiguity and adapting quickly as client needs evolve.
• You're proficient with project management tooling (e.g. Salesforce, Jira, or equivalent PSA/CRM platforms); PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred; Background in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in French, German, Dutch, Spanish, or Polish is a meaningful advantage given the client base. Experience with SAP-integrated implementations (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, or Process Orchestration) and familiarity with EMEA e-invoicing mandates (France, Germany, Poland, Turkey, etc.) are significant advantages. Comfort with AI-assisted workflows and tools is valued.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire.
