Job summary

VINCI Building UK is seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive major construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and ensure risk, safety, and quality are managed to the highest standards across the project lifecycle.

Job description

As a Senior Project Manager with VINCI Building, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex, high-value construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. Leading multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for driving programme performance, managing risk, maintaining commercial awareness, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, you will provide strong leadership, foster collaborative relationships, and create an environment where teams can perform at their best. You'll be confident managing multiple priorities, making critical decisions, and delivering projects that exceed expectations while supporting VINCI Building's commitment to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence.

Managingorganisationalresources

• Maintain a clear management structure

Management of information

• Management of designers, including direction for the design manager
• Production of information required schedules &subsequentmonitoring
• Ensure dissemination of information to relevant parties
• Build working relationships with peers and colleagues in VINCI.Willingto foster knowledge sharing, learning and development, collaboration across projects and sectors
• Understand what BIM is, understand the implications and value proposition of BIM within theorganisation

Production

• Ensure materials,plantand sub-contractors areprocuredto meet targets
• Ensureappropriate qualityis achieved on the project
• Ensure that theworks areundertakenin accordance withall HS&E legislation, and the site Health Safety and Environmental Plans.
• Review Health & Safety and investigate incidents, providing summary and recommendations
• Periodic inspection of construction sites to ensure compliance
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines,qualityand safety standards
• Identifythe elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims
• Mitigate legal issues and defects liability for the business
• Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project
• Decide on solutions tomajor issuesand challenges

Project Planning

• Maintain & develop overall strategy for the projectDevelop plans to achieve specific goals
• Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule
• Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams
• Review project plans with Contracts Manager on Monthly basis

Project Reporting and Cost Management

• Understand contract mechanisms, and contemporary cost andprogrammedata, and communicate the project financial and contractual position through written reports and in CVR meetings
• Identifywhere cost and value can be managed for the overall betterment of the project
• Understands VINCI corporate strategy and priorities, and the relationship of the project and its team to them

Liaison with client and end users

• Manage aspirations of client & end users
• Resolve queries and complaints
• Develop relationships for the future winning work
• Report on progress,problemsand information requirements.

Administration

• Organisetime andprioritiseactions to be visible and present where needede.g.possession weekends/supplier events/safety breakfasts
• Ensure project documents are complete
• Manage site secretary / receptionist
• Set up project systems and review
• Procure IT requirements
• Ensure company procedures are beingmaintainedby internal review
