Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a high-profile submarine hardware programme within our Defence business. You will guide a multidisciplinary team through design, development and qualification of next-gen submarine hardware.

This senior role offers visibility, the chance to influence key stakeholders, and a meaningful contribution to UK defence and national security, with flexible and hybrid working options.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record delivering complex engineering projects across full design and development lifecycle.
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders within complex programmes.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent.
  • Experience within Defence, Maritime, Aerospace or closely related highly regulated industries.
  • Strong programme planning, financial management and risk management expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of complex hardware design and qualification projects against agreed cost, schedule and performance baselines.
  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Manage project priorities and resolve issues and conflicts to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate financial forecasts, resource plans and programme reporting.
  • Provide regular updates on project performance, risks, opportunities and progress to senior stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile submarine hardware programme within our Defence business. Alongside developing and supporting UK and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our teams deliver critical technology that underpins the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects across the full design and development lifecycle.
  • Significant experience managing internal and external stakeholders within complex programmes.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent.
  • Experience within Defence, Maritime, Aerospace or closely related highly regulated industries.
  • Strong programme planning, financial management and risk management expertise.
  • A technical degree, engineering background, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
