Job summary

BMR Solutions Ltd in Bristol is recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering and product development projects within a global organisation. You will own projects, manage cross-functional teams and drive delivery to the required time, cost, quality and specification.

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will translate objectives into detailed plans, maintain RAID logs, and provide updates to governance forums.

Qualifications

• Recognised Project or Programme Management qualification, such as APM PMQ or PRINCE2, or equivalent practical experience.
• Degree-level education in an appropriate Engineering, Technical or Science discipline.
• Significant experience managing complex technical projects or programmes across multiple phases and extended delivery timelines.
• Proven track record of delivering projects to agreed timescales, budgets and technical specifications.
• Experience managing projects incorporating software development or software engineering content.
• Demonstrable experience influencing and managing stakeholders and teams across global organisations.

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for the delivery of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, portfolio priorities and governance requirements.
• Lead projects across scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Translate programme objectives and technical requirements into detailed project plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and delivery strategies.
• Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, driving performance and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project risks, actions, issues and decisions (RAID), ensuring effective mitigation and timely escalation where required.
• Provide accurate and consistent project updates and performance reports to programme governance forums.
• Manage project-level change control, ensuring changes are assessed and implemented in accordance with programme governance.
• Identify resource requirements, constraints and potential delivery conflicts, working closely with the Programme Manager to resolve issues.
• Influence stakeholders across multiple organisational levels and international locations to maintain project momentum.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across project management systems, processes and tools.

BMR Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a leading global engineering and technology organisation based in Bristol.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of complex, strategically important engineering and product development projects, working within a wider programme of activities.

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for delivering assigned projects in line with programme objectives, business priorities and the Product Commercialisation Process (PCP). You will lead cross-functional teams, manage project risks and resources, and ensure projects are delivered to the required time, cost, quality and specification.

Projects may involve platform development, first-of-their-kind technologies, multi-site delivery and high-risk strategic developments, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative products and solutions within a global engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of project planning methodologies, governance and project management tools, including Microsoft Project.

• Practical experience maintaining RAID logs and managing project-level risks and issues.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
• A proactive leadership approach, with the confidence to drive performance, establish expectations and hold teams accountable for delivery.
• Experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives involving project management systems, processes or tools.

Working Arrangements

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom

Salary: £62,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Hybrid - a combination of remote working and office-based collaboration.
