A growing construction firm in Chelmsford is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead project teams and enhance company growth. The role requires extensive experience in the Construction/M&E industry, ideally with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors. The successful candidate will coordinate daily operations, mentor managers, and oversee project profitability. This position offers potential growth into a Director role.

Qualifications

  • 15 years experience in the Construction/M&E industry.
  • 5 years experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
  • Driving license required.

  • 15 years experience of working within the Construction / M&E industry
  • Experience within the Rail Industry
  • 5 years experience of working within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
  • Experience of managing projects with values of circa £6,000,000 plus would be highly beneficial
  • Ideally you will be educated to Degree Level within a Construction, MEP or Civil Engineering discipline but this is not essential
  • Ideally you will hold qualifications such as SMSTS or NEBOSH
  • Must hold a driving license
  • Experience of working in a similar role or Operations Manager role
  • Experience within Fire Protection would be beneficial but this is not essential

The Role

You will work closely with the Directors of the business to enhance and develop the Company’s growth plan over the coming years. The board is made up of 4 Directors and will allow the right individual to grow and prosper within the Company’s planned re-structuring. Key duties will include…

  • Lead the project management teams with their daily operational issues
  • Lead on the weekly labour planning meeting
  • Co-ordinate the labour look-ahead
  • Mentor managers and identify training needs
  • Promote good relations with clients on site
  • Hold quarterly managers & supervisors meeting at head office
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings
  • Responsible for project profitability
  • Oversee H&S issues, and develop safety-based behaviour
  • Oversee QA and compliance on each site
