The Vacancy

Brown & May Marine Ltd (BMM) is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our established marine consultancy team.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in a varied portfolio of marine projects, including some of the UK's significant offshore renewable energy and infrastructure developments. You will work closely with experienced colleagues across fisheries, fish and benthic ecology, supporting projects where offshore development and the marine environment intersect.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, working collaboratively and managing complex projects from planning through to delivery.

The role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management and delivery of a range of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing projects from inception through to completion
  • Supporting and coordinating colleagues working across project teams
  • Managing project commercial requirements and quality assurance
  • Preparing tenders and supporting contract negotiations and contract compliance
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
  • Planning and managing offshore surveys
  • Liaising with fisheries stakeholders, government and regional agencies, NGOs and other interested parties
  • Preparing, reviewing and contributing to technical reports
  • Contributing to the continued development of BMM and the wider team
About You

We're particularly interested in hearing from experienced project managers who are comfortable taking responsibility, enjoy working as part of a team and are confident using their own initiative.

Ideally, you'll bring experience of:

  • Managing complex projects, budgets and programmes
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and competing priorities
  • Client and stakeholder management
  • Producing and reviewing high-quality written reports
  • Working with and analysing technical data

Experience within offshore wind, marine, commercial fisheries, environmental consultancy or a related sector would be particularly useful.

You don't necessarily need to come from exactly the same background as us. If you have strong project management experience in a related technical or environmental field and believe your skills would transfer well, we'd still be interested in hearing from you.

Location and travel

BMM takes a flexible approach to where our people are based, with colleagues attending UK or overseas offices on a regular basis. Travel and accommodation costs associated with this are reimbursed in full.

The role will involve some UK and international travel, and there may also be opportunities where time aboard survey vessels is required.

What We Offer

Alongside a competitive salary, we offer a wide-ranging benefits package, including:

  • 20 days' annual leave plus bank and public holidays, increasing to 23 days with length of service
  • Annual Leave Purchase Scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Electric Vehicle Scheme
  • Payroll Giving
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Digital GP Service
  • Mental Health Support
  • Life Assurance
  • Mortgage and Financial Advice
  • A range of employee discounts
Interested?

If you're an experienced project manager looking for a role where you can take ownership of interesting and varied marine projects while working with an established specialist team, we'd like to hear from you.
