Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major data centre civils and infrastructure package in Blyth, Northumberland. The role focuses on delivering complex works on time, to budget, with strong leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in civil engineering and large-scale infrastructure projects, with experience coordinating subcontractors, programmes and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering and major infrastructure projects.

• Strong programme and stakeholder management skills.
• Data centre experience is highly desirable but not essential for the right civils-focused candidate.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of designated areas of the project.
• Lead and manage project teams, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Oversee the delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure packages, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads, concrete and external works.
• Manage programme, progress, sequencing and project milestones.
• Coordinate multiple subcontract packages and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Liaise closely with the client, consultants, designers and supply chain.
• Chair progress, coordination and programme meetings.
• Monitor project performance, commercial progress and change.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design, specification, quality and HSE requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical, programme and logistical issues.
• Provide strong leadership across the project delivery team.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a major data centre scheme in Blyth, Northumberland.

This is a key appointment for the project, and we are looking for a strong construction professional with a proven background delivering large-scale civils and infrastructure packages. Previous data centre experience would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong experience delivering complex civils projects within other major sectors will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Manager with:

• A strong background in civil engineering and major infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing large and complex construction projects.
• Experience overseeing multiple subcontractors and work packages.
• Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, utilities, reinforced concrete and external works.
• Excellent programme and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• The ability to lead teams and drive projects through to successful completion.
• Data centre experience is highly desirable, but not essential for the right civils-focused candidate.
