A significant governmental institution is looking for a Senior Project Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to lead and manage high-profile projects across the UK Parliament. The role involves coordinating multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with standards, driving project improvements, and offering strong training support. This hybrid position requires 60% office presence, providing opportunities for professional growth while helping to maintain and modernize important national sites.
The House of Commons are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to lead the delivery of high-profile projects across the UK Parliamentry estate. You will manage a team of project leads delivering mechanical-led projects valued between £50k and £2m, taking schemes from early definition and business case through design, procurement, construction and handover.
This role is exciting because no two projects are the same. You'll work on nationally significant, often listed, buildings where technical excellence, safety and innovation really matter. Acting as a senior technical authority, you'll review designs, coordinate multiple disciplines and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Parliamentary standards, CDM regulations and statutory requirements.
Beyond delivery, you'll help shape how projects are run, driving continuous improvement and supporting the move toward condition-based maintenance. You'll also have opportunities to deputise for senior managers and contribute to major programmes, including Restoration and Renewal. This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 60% of your time in the office.
