Job Title Senior Project Engineer - Protection

Location: Currie, Edinburgh

Salary from £53,280 to £66,600 + Excellent Benefits Scheme

To maintain, operate and develop SPT's Operational Protection capabilities safeguarding Scottish Powers efforts to help the UK reach its net zero targets.

What you'll be doing
  • Develop & maintain Protection assets across the SPT network
  • Provide change-process performance to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a strong relationship with all departmental interfaces
  • Provide feedback into Protection technical specifications for Major Projects
  • Delivery of RIIO-price control period objectives.
  • Operational response to Protection faults & defects. Interfacing with OCC to optimise team & system performance.
  • Creating Protection configurations: implementation, testing & commissioning on-site.
What you'll bring
  • Developed negotiation, communication and people management skills
  • Significant experience of Protection systems on the power system network
  • Developed understanding of industry standard Protection protocols and protocol emulation tools
  • Developed Transmission/Distribution operational experience
  • Capable of devising solutions to complex problems, individually and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of network and business data and network management systems.
