Job Summary

In this role, you will manage, analyze, and resolve medium complexity or technical problems, providing guidance and expertise to stakeholders, interpreting technical strategies, and checking designs, drawings, and calculations. You will assist in planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects, representing SRC at client meetings with confidence. You will work closely with external/client staff, key stakeholders, and the internal SRC team.

• Apply professional engineering judgment in supporting significant projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Prepare, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects and deliverables.
• Interpret and implement client specifications in design and engineering solutions.
• Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with quality, safety, and project management procedures.
• Deliver projects on time and to the required quality standards.
• Contribute to technical proposals and client presentations.
• Maintain good relationships with clients and contribute to marketing efforts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety considerations.
• Communicate effectively with the project team and stakeholders.
• Support team development through mentoring and strategic inputs.
• Manage your work and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Lead design reviews and promote continuous improvement.
• Forecast engineering resources for projects and programmes.

Minimum Requirements

• Right to work in the UK.
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (BSc, MSc, or MEng).
• At least 7+ years of professional engineering experience in transportation projects, including design and construction.
• Experience in the Rail Industry and understanding of the Rail Environment, rules, and regulations.
• Knowledge of TfL Pathway or Network Rail GRIP, PACE, and standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proactive with strong relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing teams of 5+ engineers.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, working towards or holding chartership.
• Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance.
