Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the South West region is seeking Project Controls Engineers to support major transport and utilities projects across Bristol, Cardiff and nearby areas. You will work on data collation for schedules and cost reporting, while developing digital reporting capabilities and governance of controls processes.

We welcome graduates with some project control exposure who are proactive, communicative and able to work both autonomously and within a team.

Qualifications

• This job is suitable for a graduate with some project control experience and strong communication/analytical skills.
• Experience in project or programme management environments with delivery or controls responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Power BI, and MS Office tools is expected or advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collate progress data from multi-discipline teams to update project/programme schedules in Primavera P6.
• Collate cost data to support budget requests and update cost reports.
• Prepare monthly reports measuring progress against baselines.
• Support training and digital reporting using Power BI and related tools.
• Assist the Project Controls Manager with governance and assurance of processes.

Job Description

Within the South West region, our Infrastructure team has established strong positions across the Transport and Utilities sectors. With significant growth in recent years, we are continuing to expand our presence and are looking to connect with Project Controls Engineers and Senior Project Controls Engineers, particularly those based in Bristol, Cardiff and the wider South West area.

We offer the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and programmes across the region, alongside wider UK opportunities, supporting clients in both Client PC roles. We are seeking Project Controls Engineers who enjoy collaborating to solve complex challenges and continue to develop their technical skills and experience.

Job Objectives:

• Collation of progress data from multi-discipline teams to update project/programme schedule in Primavera P6;
• Collation of cost data from multi-discipline teams to support budget requests & update cost report;
• Preparation of monthly reports measuring progress against baseline;
• Support training and communication in application of processes and digital procedures to support digital reporting through tools such as Power Bi.
• Support the Project Controls Manager in applying governance & assurance of Project Controls processes.

Required Experience:

• This job would be suitable for a qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with some experience in a project control environment. PCE’s should be proactive, self-starters with well developed communications and analytical skills;
• Experience of working in project or programme management environment, with responsibility for delivery or controls of individual projects, programmes or portfolios;
• Experience using controls/ general software applications such as Primavera (P6), Power BI, Microsoft Office Applications;
• Reliable with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
• Strong time management skills, quick thinking and ability to meet project deadlines as necessary;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required;

Preferred Experience:

• Demonstrated understanding of Project Controls concepts.
• Previous experience of working with infrastructure projects;

Qualifications

• Degree or qualification in a relevant discipline with some experience in a project control environment;
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Predict, ARM or Power Bi would be advantageous.
• Full UK Driving License.
