Job summary

MCS Group is recruiting a Senior Programme Manager on behalf of a leading organisation for a temporary contract based in Belfast. You will lead a portfolio of infrastructure projects with a significant capital budget, guiding them from concept through to delivery and ongoing maintenance.

Working across a complex stakeholder environment, you will provide strategic programme leadership, oversee governance and controls, and ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with government regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering major construction programmes.
• At least 3 years' experience in the rail industry.
• Proven ability to ensure governance, regulatory compliance, and programme controls.
• Strong leadership and resource management in fast-paced project environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of infrastructure projects from concept to delivery and maintenance.
• Lead both BAU and strategic initiatives aligned to long-term investment plans.
• Engage with internal and external partners across a complex stakeholder environment.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with governance.

MCS Group is recruiting a Senior Programme Manager on behalf of a leading organisation for a temporary contract based in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced programme leader to take ownership of a portfolio of infrastructure projects with a significant capital budget. You will oversee projects from initial concept through to delivery and ongoing maintenance, managing both business-as-usual and strategic initiatives that play a key role in the organisation's long-term investment plans.

Working across a complex stakeholder environment, you will engage with internal and external partners, provide strategic programme leadership, contribute to business case development, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with governance requirements.

The candidate:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience successfully managing and delivering major construction projects and programmes.
• At least 3 years' experience working within the rail industry.
• Proven experience ensuring compliance with government regulations, governance frameworks, and programme controls.
• Strong leadership experience managing project teams, allocating resources, and overseeing workloads within a fast-paced project environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and programme delivery skills.
