Production Engineering - Electronics Manufacturing

Our Client is a leading end-to-end contract electronics manufacturer, who specialise in transforming product ideas into reality for customers. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer. You will work line-side, providing essential support to production. You will use your technical knowledge to resolve operational issues and communicate with various departments and customers to aid with the efficient production of PCB assemblies.

Key Responsibilities - Production Engineering
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve assembly processes, providing technical expertise and advice
  • Investigate and resolve production issues and queries
  • Sign-off for all production assembly documents
  • Create jigs and fixtures to aid assembly in production
  • Maintain document control on the production floor
  • Ensure customer data is controlled and processed as per ECN, permit and concession processes
  • Communicate with customers to resolve any build issues by email / Teams/phone. Attend on-site meetings for engineering support
  • Implement equipment control, calibration, and labelling processes
  • Facilitate line set-up for new and existing projects, ensuring efficient production of new products
  • Support New Product Introduction, attending customer meetings and assisting with PE and Quality
  • Check and confirm BOM and production routes
  • Optimisation of new and existing projects throughout the project lifecycle. Leading projects from initial order to implementation
  • Identify and investigate new machinery and tooling requirements, and cost implications
  • Troubleshot and assisted with the repair of machine and equipment breakdowns (using 3rd party support providers
  • Create Surface Mount programmes for Mycronic SMT machines and SMT component packages, improving efficiency and accuracy of pick and place machines
  • Lead the line-side process support for paste machines, reflow ovens, AOI and associated machinery
  • Creation of custom re-flow profiles using data collection module/software
  • Support and mentor junior members of the Engineering team.

  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in IT skills (Excel/Word/Publisher) and project management applications
  • Degree / HND / HNC in engineering or equivalent experience

Monday Thursday: 07:30 am-16:00 pm, Friday: 07:30 am-13:30 pm
