About the team

The Canvas team at Goodnotes is at the heart of our core note‑taking experience – used and loved by millions every day. We build and maintain the foundational components that turn any device into an endless, expressive digital notebook. This includes the drawing, writing, and typing tools, the canvas interaction model, content creation and editing flows, as well as our rendering engine. We value efficiency and focus, with minimal meetings and an emphasis on getting things done. You'll work closely with our product leadership, design team, and engineers to create exceptional experiences for our users.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Canvas team and lead the evolution of the typing experience in Goodnotes. In this role, you’ll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for how millions of users type, write, and think digitally every day. You’ll also be responsible for delivery and execution, ensuring that the team’s efforts are focused on what matters most through clear, outcome‑driven decisions.

  • Own one of the key areas within our Canvas team which represents a central piece of the Goodnotes application and be on the critical path for future scale and growth of the company
  • Drive the product vision and strategy and help evolve the canvas experience
  • Collaborate closely with design and engineering to define product requirements and roadmaps
  • Lead product discovery through user research, feedback, and market insights
  • Drive product decisions through data and user insights
  • Prioritize features and improvements to maximize user value
The skills you will need to be successful in the above:
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within consumer or productivity products
  • Demonstrated experience in improving or building typing, text, or input systems (e.g. rich text editors, note‑taking apps, document tools)
  • Proven ability to own complex product areas end‑to‑end – from discovery, definition and strategy to delivery and iteration
  • Deep understanding of UX principles, especially around text input, layout, or editing experiences
  • Strong customer empathy with previous experience interacting directly with users
  • Data‑informed decision making – able to define, measure, and interpret product success metrics
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑functional setting
  • Solid understanding of technical foundations
