Job Description: Senior Product Engineer - Solution Validation Growth (SVG)

The newly formed Solution Validation Growth (SVG) team within Consumer Payments is seeking a technically inclined individual with a passion for product ownership to help us grow and launch new features and services. This role reports to the Validation vertical within SVG.

The Senior Product Engineer will have hands-on experience and responsibilities including:

1. Collaborating closely with Visa’s technology and product teams to understand new business initiatives and their impact on client projects, and building the Validation platform for Sandbox and Production environments.
2. Designing and developing proof of concept to validate user interaction flows documented in service blueprints created by UX designers, Product, and Solution Architects.
3. Applying business and systems thinking to analyze proof of concept outputs and generate insights to improve the service blueprint.
4. Utilizing knowledge of best-in-class and inclusive user experience and the latest UX technologies to ensure the service blueprint offers the best possible experience.
5. Demonstrating the value of prototyping in the design and validation process.
6. Creating detailed technical documentation, including architectural flows and sequence diagrams for prototypes.
7. Leading technical discussions with clients and partners on UX and technical flows.
8. Staying updated on the latest UX technologies and exploring their utilization.
9. Developing strong partnerships with product and design teams to evaluate and validate cutting-edge technologies that enhance UX.
10. Evaluating Visa and partner integration models to ensure a top-tier developer experience.
11. Being recognized as a subject matter expert in UX technologies within product, design, and technology teams.
12. Collaborating with engineering teams to build scalable, reliable payment processing platforms.
13. Building positive relationships with stakeholders.
14. Defining product and technical requirements, including writing clear user stories for complex features.
15. Working closely with development and QA teams to ensure products meet business requirements.
16. Supporting compliance, security, and quality standards for Visa deliverables and the payment ecosystem.
17. Participating in daily scrum meetings.

This role may require after-hours work, including late evenings and weekends, for client and company configuration changes and post-production validation.

Minimum requirements include:

1. 8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with an advanced degree in software engineering or related fields.
2. Ability to build front-end and back-end applications from scratch.
3. Expertise in web service standards (REST, SOAP, gRPC, etc.) and database technologies.
4. Experience in software development lifecycle in e-commerce or web environments.
5. Proven experience with large-scale, highly available web or mobile applications.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
7. Experience with identity solutions (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, security tokens) and cryptographic knowledge.
8. Familiarity with scripting for API testing tools like Postman.
9. Knowledge of Design Thinking, Jira Align, project management principles, and Agile methodologies.
10. Hands-on experience in product roadmaps, user stories, backlog grooming, and requirement prioritization.
11. Excellent client-facing communication skills.
12. Curiosity and interest in solving problems with a data-driven approach.
13. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to broader team success.
