Job summary

Coform is scaling its engineering team in London to turn the reasoning and workflows of top SEs and FDEs into agentic software. You’ll work across data modeling, backend, and frontend, delivering weekly iterations for major clients like Remote.com, GoCardless, and Mollie.

We seek AI-native engineers who ship production TS/React code and enjoy solving hard problems. This role is London-based or relocation-ready with three in-person days weekly.

• Participate in customer standups and discovery to inform decisions.
• Define what done means: reliability, testing, observability for future engineers.

About the Role

Our engineering team turns the reasoning and workflows of the best SEs and FDEs into agentic software. But demand is pulling ahead of what our two engineers can build - our customers are expanding (one has more than 3x their spend with us) and a growing wave of AI companies are hitting the problem we solve. You’d be joining our Engineering team of Lewis (CTO) and João (Product Engineer).

What You’ll Do.

• Ship product end-to-end - data model, backend, interface, follow-through - weekly, to teams at Remote, GoCardless and Mollie.
• Build the reasoning layer itself: extraction pipelines, LLM orchestration, evaluation.
• Build the surfaces around it: capture in Slack and voice, delivery through our MCP server and integrations like Salesforce and Gong
• Be part of customer standups and discovery - most product decisions here start with a conversation, not a ticket
• Help define what done means - reliability, testing, observability - the bar our next ten engineers inherit.

What You’ll Bring

• You've shipped production software in TypeScript and React - ideally in a startup or early-stage.
• You're AI-native in how you work, and you have a system for holding that output to a standard
• You’re a self-starter, who sees problems and wants to solve them, rather than having to being told what to do.
• You value giving and receiving feedback - we are building an open and transparent working culture.
• London-based or open to relocation, three days a week in person. We value in-person time for brainstorming, alignment & planning.

Bonus

• You’re curious about our customers and the world of presales & delivery. You enjoy diving into problems and understanding it from all angles. The more understanding you have, the more effective you’ll be at tackling the problems we’re solving.
• You've built LLM pipelines in production and have scar tissue about evaluation.

What This Role Isn't

• A pure infrastructure role. We don't yet have a scale problem. We’re still focused on "does this actually solve the problem" and iterating towards PMF, so customer and velocity come first. But senior means designing core systems with reliability and scale in mind, and knowing when that matters and when shipping wins. If you only want distributed systems at scale, you'd be underused here; if you can’t think about them at all, you'd be miscast.
• A founding engineer role. That team exists. You'd be joining an engineering function Lewis leads, at a company with customers, revenue and a category thesis we've already committed to. There's a huge amount still to define - but you're not starting from a blank page.
• A settled engineering org. Some weeks are chaotic. Some things you ship will break. What we can promise is that we fix them fast and we're honest about it, with each other and with customers.

Our Stack

TypeScript across the stack. React and Next.js with Tailwind and Radix/shadcn on the front end, Nest.js on the back. MongoDB, Redis and BullMQ. Render as a PaaS on AWS, Sentry for monitoring. Vellum for LLM orchestration and Pipedream as our integration layer. Anthropic and OpenAI models.
