Overview
The role: Senior Producing Broker
- We are looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to join our Reinsurance Treaty team in Italy (Rome/Milan ideally) working mainly on Property & Casualty lines to begin with but also with an open field to develop any other classes such as Cyber, Credit, Surety or engineering for example.
- Life, MGAs or niche areas of expertise will be of interest if the candidate believes business can be developed in these specific segments.
- The candidate will ideally be based in Rome or Milan, but Gallagher offers flexibility to work from other Gallagher Re offices in Europe, such as London, Zurich and Munich.
- As a Reinsurance Broker with focus on producing revenue you will work in a unique hybrid role where you will maintain strong client and reinsurer relationships: 1) for some existing portfolio of assigned accounts in order to ensure the appropriate level of service to all clients; 2) the role requests a strong focus on prospection and seeking new opportunities in the market.
How you'll make an impact
- Maintain, process and manage an existing book of Italian clients.
- Be commercial and proactive in order to develop new business.
- Marketing complex reinsurance business to carriers, on behalf of the existing clients.
- Developing and maintaining a network of carrier and/or broker relationships.
- Identify and analyze client exposures to recommend and/or design risk solutions.
- Identify appropriate carriers, send requests, negotiate favorable reinsurance quotes and prepare recommendations for the client.
- Revenue generating responsibility.
- Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
- Ability to work in a hybrid style with colleagues across different locations.
- Strong project management capabilities.
About you
- Fluent in Italian and English.
- Spanish, French, or German a plus but not essential.
- Reinsurance client facing experience required, either from a broker or a carrier background.
- Approximately 10 years of relevant reinsurance background.
- Big 4 Consulting firms can be considered as long as relevant reinsurance experience has been gained over the years.
- Excellent sales capabilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- A degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred.
