Salary: £43,795 - £47,712 per annum

Are you ready to take your procurement career to the next level? Our client, a prominent organisation in the public services sector, is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team in Guildford!

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee the procurement of goods, works, and services to meet the operational needs of the authorities.
  • Provide first‑line supervision and support to your team, fostering their development through coaching and training.
  • Create and maintain effective working procedures within the Procurement Section, ensuring efficiency in day‑to‑day operations.
  • Prepare and manage contract documentation for high‑value, complex portfolios of goods and services, ensuring all stakeholder needs are met.
  • Lead the evaluation process for tenders, ensuring compliance with Contract Standing Orders and Procurement Legislation.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure the most favourable terms, demonstrating a commitment to delivering Best Value.
  • Prepare detailed recommendations for contract awards and manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure service delivery aligns with established performance terms.
What We're Looking For:
  • Full CIPS membership or be actively working towards it.
  • A recognised graduate degree or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Must be able to pass Police Vetting therefore continuously have lived within the UK for at least 5 years.
  • Proven experience in high‑risk, high‑value procurement agreements and a solid understanding of Procurement Law.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels with strong communication skills.
  • Line management experience or the potential to develop these skills.
  • A willingness to travel within Sussex and Surrey.
