Job summary

A public sector consultancy is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager for a long-term contract until April 2026, located in Flintshire. The role involves leading end-to-end procurement activities and managing a small team in a complex, regulated environment. Senior Procurement Manager

Contract | Inside IR35

Rate: £33 per hour (Umbrella)

Location: Flintshire (initially up to 100% onsite, moving to approximately 60% onsite thereafter)

Contract duration: Until April 2026, with potential for extension

We are currently supporting a public sector organisation with the appointment of an experienced Senior Procurement Manager on a long-term contract engagement.

This role will lead end-to-end procurement activity within a complex, regulated environment and will involve direct line management responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver end-to-end procurement activity across multiple workstreams
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle from strategy through to contract award
  • Provide leadership and people management to a small procurement team
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations and internal governance
  • Work with ERP systems to support procurement activity and reporting
Essential Experience
  • Proven end-to-end procurement experience
  • Strong understanding of the full procurement lifecycle
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Public sector procurement experience, ideally within a regulated or defence‑related environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Line management experience, typically managing 3 to 4 direct reports
Desirable
  • MCIPS Level 4 or above
