Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in London (20 St. Andrew Street, London EC4A 3AG) seeks a Senior Process Engineer to join its oil & gas engineering consultancy team. The role covers pre-project studies, FEED and detailed design for onshore/offshore projects, with opportunities for global client interaction and international travel.

Applicants should have a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, 10+ years’ experience in process engineering, and permanent right to work in the UK. A membership in ICE is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (Merit 2:1 or higher).
  • Preference for full membership of the Institution of Chemical Engineers or national equivalents.

Responsibilities

  • Process systems design across pre-feasibility, concept, FEED and detailed engineering.
  • Perform process simulations and technology evaluation.
  • Supervise and develop junior process engineers to meet project objectives.
  • Develop and oversee technical reports and process deliverables.
  • Interface with clients through progress meetings, presentations and site visits.
  • Assist with work plans, schedules and estimates for studies/projects.
  • Support proposals and business development activities.

The Role:

Hatch seeks to employ a Senior Process Engineer to join our engineering team and support continued expansion of our oil and gas engineering consultancy business. The work is varied and stimulating, covering pre-project studies and early phase engineering design for greenfield developments, brownfield upgrades and operations support, onshore and offshore. Typical activities for this Process Engineer role include:

  • Process systems design covering all project stages including pre-feasibility, concept, FEED and detailed engineering.
  • Process simulations and technology evaluation.
  • Supervising and developing junior process engineers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the development of technical reports and process engineering deliverables.
  • Interfacing with clients through progress meetings, presentations and site visits.
  • Assisting with development of work plans, schedules and estimates for execution of studies / projects.
  • Assisting with proposals and business development activities.
Qualifications and Experience:

We require applicants to have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (Merit grade 2:1 or higher).
Preference will be given to candidates who have achieved full membership of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (or other national equivalents).

We expect applicants to have at least 10 years of experience in process engineering, ideally with a background in working for consultancy organizations executing conceptual, FEED, PMC and EPCM scopes. Candidates should have worked on projects with exposure to Upstream oil and gas projects.

Candidates must have permanent right to work in the UK.

Personal Qualities:

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline team to develop solutions focused on client objectives.
  • Lead studies and supervise junior engineers, to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Willing to travel to clients around the world.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
