Senior Process Engineer – Huntingdon

Permanent | £45-60k + Benefits | 5 days on site

Role
  • Develop, optimise, and support advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Sustain current production while leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Support NPI and process transfer from R&D to production.
  • Implement in‑process controls to reduce variation and improve yield.
  • Lead root cause analysis and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Validate and commission new manufacturing equipment.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in process engineering within wafer, MEMS, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of cleanroom environments and microfabrication processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with photolithography, dry/wet etching, wafer bonding.
  • MEMS fabrication (DRIE, micromachining, sacrificial layer removal).
  • Semiconductor processes (PVD, CVD, sputtering, interconnect, assembly).
  • Skilled in SPC, data analysis, and root cause methodologies (8D, FMEA).
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering or physical sciences discipline.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Desirable
  • Experience commissioning or qualifying new process equipment.
  • Exposure to NPI environments or scaling processes from prototype to production.
  • CAD experience for process fixtures or tooling design.
  • Software skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience in a technical team.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, micro‑assembly, or surface analysis.
