Senior Process Engineer – Forging / Casting
Location

West Midlands (commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Redditch, Lichfield, Walsall, West Bromwich areas)

Salary

to £50,000 + benefits

Job Description
  • Technical subject matter expert for all products manufactured on site
  • Ensure manufacturing process confirm to customers specifications
  • Implement process improvements in production to optimise process performance
  • Lead capability studies on new processes and equipment
  • Review and improve SOP/work instructions, PFMEA, process control plans, process flow, standard operations and capability
  • Optimise process flow, defect reduction and minimise waste through use of lean manufacturing methods
Experience

You will already be a competent Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer or Production Engineer with previous experience within high volume or large batch metal based manufacturing background.

  • HND/Degree level or equivalent education in engineering or metallurgy or material science
  • Proven experience leading process improvement and projects including specification, cost justification and vendor management through to project buy off and successful introduction
  • Sound understanding of metal manufacturing processes such as forging, casting or extrusion
  • Good communication skills for effective liaison and teamwork.
  • Hands on approach with problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
