Qualifications

Job description

Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) is a region of Mott MacDonald group that brings together the design capability of Mott MacDonald and the construction expertise of JN Bentley to deliver award winning projects.

We have secured a new framework with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water that will last up to eight years, this will see MMB tackle projects across the DCC region covering both clean and wastewater treatment sites, as well as below ground assets, reservoirs and nature-based solutions.

After securing our first framework with DCC at the beginning of AMP6, our presence in Wales has grown significantly, directly employing over 270 colleagues in the country across all roles, from frontline construction to design and management positions.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be accountable for the process design of a programme of water industry non-infrastructure projects through the outline and detailed design stages and offer construction/commissioning support during delivery. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your technical and management skills, grow your professional network, and provide you with excellent long-term potential to advance your career.

As Senior Process Engineer, you will:

  • Lead development of process design process deliverables such as process models, mass balances, control philosophies.
  • Provide technical assurance of process designs undertaken by others and ensure the design complies with Client standards and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation to meet whole-life cost and net-zero drivers.
  • Analyse site performance and identify risks that may impact project delivery. Develop mitigation to avoid negative impacts or exploit opportunities.
  • Challenge the process selection and delivery effectiveness of initial solutions to ensure we always offer our clients the best value solutions.
  • Supporting the development of other process engineers, coaching and mentoring junior engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects.
  • Be able to appropriately challenge Client specifications and present and defend solutions to complex problems
  • Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, client and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.

What you can offer:

  • Chemical Engineering or relevant Process Engineering related degree, preferably chartered.
  • Experience and understanding of water and/or wastewater unit processes and treatment plant, with experience of delivering process design for wastewater projects.
  • Experience of HAZOP studies as chair or team member would be advantageous
  • Strong clean water non infrastructure experience.
