Job summary

Plessey in Plymouth is seeking a Senior Process Development Engineer to drive process development for MicroLED and optical interconnect applications. You'll split time between hands-on work in the cleanroom and planning experiments, data analysis, and presenting insights to management.

Join a fast-growing R&D team shaping next-generation displays and AI infrastructure, collaborating with process owners and cross-functional teams to optimize pixel performance and tooling needs.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline; or a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years industry experience.
• Hands-on experience developing and optimising InP or GaAs semiconductor device fabrication in clean room.
• Knowledge of semiconductor device physics.
• Experience with lithography, etch, CVD, PVD, ALD, IBD.
• Design of Experiments and statistical analysis techniques.
• Working knowledge of CAM systems and SPC.
• Clear communication of design decisions to cross-functional teams.
• Experience with risk analysis and design reviews.
• Experience with JMP or Python for data analysis is advantageous.
