A progressive legal firm in Wakefield is seeking a Senior Private Client Solicitor to lead high-quality, complex private client matters. This role offers a genuine pathway to Legal Director or Partner within 2 years. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of PQE in Private Client law, alongside experience managing HNW estates and mentoring junior colleagues. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Private Client law, ideally in a leading firm.
• Proven track record in managing estates and trust administration.
• Ability to work independently on complex files.
• STEP qualification or progress toward it.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues or leading small teams.
• Background in a city centre or large regional firm with a desire for balance and autonomy.
• Collaborative and confident, enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others grow.

Responsibilities

• Lead on high-quality private client matters and HNW cases.
• Mentor junior team members and provide support.
• Contribute to business development initiatives.
• Build relationships with IFAs, accountants, and referrers.
• Help the department grow by contributing to business development.
• Support clients through wills, probate, trusts, tax, LPAs, estate planning and more.

What you’ll be doing

• Running a high-quality caseload independently, with support if needed
• Taking a technical lead on complex files and advising on HNW matters
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members and trainees
• Building relationships with IFAs, accountants, and referrers
• Helping the department grow by contributing to business development
• Supporting clients through the full spectrum of Private Client services, wills, probate, trusts, tax, LPAs, estate planning and more
