Senior Private Client Solicitor - Wills & Estate Planning

Location: Basingstoke

Experience: 4+ PQE

Salary: £55,000+ DOE

Working: Hybrid available

A well-established regional law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Private Client Solicitor to join its Wills & Estate Planning team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor looking to take a senior role within an established department, with responsibility for developing their own caseload, supporting Partners and playing an active role in the continued growth of the team.

The Role

The successful candidate will handle a broad range of Private Client matters, including:

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Trust creation and administration
  • Court of Protection applications and deputyship matters
  • Advising on testamentary and succession matters
  • Advising on tax implications and estate planning
  • Supporting Partners with complex Private Client matters
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities for cross-referrals across the firm

There will also be a strong focus on business development and networking, with the opportunity to grow and expand your own client base.

You will work closely with a range of professional contacts, including financial advisers, wealth managers and tax advisers, while also collaborating with other teams within the firm to develop cross-referral opportunities.

About You

The firm is looking for a Private Client Solicitor with 4+ PQE who is technically strong, commercially minded and confident in developing relationships.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong experience across Wills, probate and estate planning
  • Experience with Trusts preferred, although not essential
  • Experience with LPAs and/or Court of Protection matters
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills
  • The confidence to network and develop your own client base
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build relationships with professional intermediaries
  • A proactive approach to business development
  • The ability to manage your own caseload while supporting more senior colleagues
