Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality process design documents and drawings, including process calculations, P&IDs, PFDs, and control philosophies, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, client specifications, and industry standards.
  • Ensure all projects meet relevant regulations and client requirements, particularly in process safety.
  • Coordinate process safety studies and collaborate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental) to deliver comprehensive, integrated designs.
  • Provide technical input and support to other disciplines in their design and specifications, fostering synergy and trust within the project team.
  • Support the delivery, commissioning, and management teams by offering effective solutions to technical issues.
  • Report on project progress to the Regional Discipline Lead and Design Manager, ensuring alignment with budget, timelines, and design objectives.
  • Consider the total project cost, including design time, materials, and potential impacts on other disciplines when developing solutions.
  • Assist the Design Manager with deliverables at different stages of the project design.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their development within the organization.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Contribute to a customer-focused culture within the organization, ensuring that customer satisfaction is prioritized in all project outcomes.
  • Ensure all designs fully comply with health and safety requirements.
Essential
  • Solid knowledge of clean water, wastewater, re-use, and/or sludge treatment process design (experience from other industries is also welcomed).
  • Proven experience in developing process calculations, such as mass balance, energy balance, and hydraulic calculations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to remain focused under pressure.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage project deadlines and milestones autonomously.
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate within and outside of the process team.
  • Ability to design cost-effective, efficient process solutions.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
