A Local Authority in the North West is seeking a Senior / Principal Planning Officer to manage major development projects. This role requires extensive experience in a Local Authority, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and preparing detailed reports for planning committees. The initial contract is for 6 months, requiring in-office work two days a week, offering a rate of £55/hr.

They are looking to appoint an accomplished Senior / Principal Planning Officer to lead work on major development projects. You will be tasked with managing more complex schemes, working with other members of the team for support.
In this role you will be dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders so you must be comfortable with this aspect of the job. You can also expect to be representing the authority in planning committee meetings and, on a regular basis, you will prepare detailed reports.
We need someone with extensive experience in a Local Authority setting who has a proven track record delivering major schemes.
The initial contract will be 6 months with scope to extend significantly given the longevity of the schemes you will be assigned.
The working week is 37 hours and the rate is £55/hr (umbrella). You will be required to work in the office 2 days per week.
