If you are passionate about making a difference, join our industry‑leading Energy team in leading the change! We are currently seeking a Principal/Senior HV Plant Engineer in our Energy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects across various technical disciplines with clients across the country.

The projects you may work on include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works and connection schemes.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects.
• Support or lead FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment, extensions and new‑build projects.
• Collaborate closely with other disciplines within the engineering team.
• Produce design and specification documentation for HV substation plant electrical power systems and associated power system components.
• Apply P&C (planning and construction) aspects where required (preferable).
• Engage with key T&D clients in the UK to ensure solutions meet their needs.
• Coach and mentor junior team members and contribute to the wider energy team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related technical field). Candidates from other technical backgrounds are also considered if they have the necessary willingness to learn.
• Minimum overall experience in design and specification production for HV substation plant electrical power systems and components.
• Experience as an HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer.
• Knowledge and understanding of the electricity transmission and distribution industry.
• Pro‑active, collaborative, and capable of coaching within the wider energy team.
• Understanding of industry best practices and innovative solutions.
