RSK Biocensus is recruiting a Senior/Principal Ecologist to lead medium to large ecological projects across the UK. You will manage tenders, coordinate field surveys, and deliver robust reporting while promoting the company with clients and partners.

The role requires a degree in Ecology (or related subject), about five years of relevant experience, and membership with CIEEM. A full UK driving licence is essential and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Ecology or related subject.
• 5 Years specific relevant experience within a similar role.
• Species specific personal licences are desirable.
• Associate membership with CIEEM.
• Abide by CIEEM’s Code of Professional Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Managing and overseeing medium/large projects and tenders from commencement to completion and close-out.
• Promoting RSK in a positive light to clients and competitors.
• Managing medium-sized projects, including finance, resource allocation, subcontractors, risk and QA, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication.
• Completing fieldwork, including out-of-hours surveys, travelling as required and working away from home.
• Assisting with the delivery of survey and research reports, including document reviews and statistical analyses.

Senior/Principal Ecologist

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing and overseeing medium/large projects and tenders from commencement to completion and close-out.
• Displaying a commitment to the work that is produced, promoting RSK in a positive light to clients and competitors
• Managing medium-sized projects, including finance, resource allocation, managing sub-contractors, risk and quality assurance, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication, and seeking and responding to client feedback
• Completing fieldwork, including out-of-hours surveys, travelling as required and working away from home
• Assisting with the delivery of survey and research reports, to include document reviews, statistical analyses, licence applications, reporting, etc.

A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle is required for this role.

Person Specification

You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of workload under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise reports, are essential for communicating findings and recommendations would be ideal for this role. You will also have excellent leadership skills as well as being able to work as part of a team and on an individual basis on certain projects.
