Job summary

Safety Talent seeks an experienced Senior Principal Designer to join the Leeds city centre team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will lead Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015, advise clients and design teams, and manage multiple commissions across sectors.

The role requires strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and Building Regulations experience, with flexibility to attend meetings and liaise with project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Principal Designer or CDM consultancy services.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015.
• Experience in construction consultancy or design practice environment.
• Ability to manage projects independently.
• Confident in advising clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015.
• Advising clients, designers and contractors on duties.
• Managing design risk through the pre-construction phase.
• Reviewing design information and identifying risks.
• Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information.
• Supporting the preparation of health and safety files.
• Attending client, design-team and project meetings.
• Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and project teams.
• Managing several live commissions at different stages.
• Maintaining project records and compliance documentation.
• Supporting junior team members.
• Assisting with fee proposals and client enquiries.
• Supporting Building Regulations Principal Designer commissions where appropriate.
