Senior Principal Business Development - Merchant Payments

Responsible for driving company card acceptance growth, through a direct to merchant sales approach, in key verticals within the UK. The role involves building and maintaining a robust pipeline of new sales opportunities, engagement with merchants to drive company acceptance take-up, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure the sales cycle is completed & is delivering key KPI’s in acceptance.

Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities
  • Drive company card acceptance growth through direct to merchant sales in key UK verticals.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new sales opportunities.
  • Engage with merchants to drive company acceptance take-up.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the sales cycle is completed and delivers key KPIs in acceptance.
  • Actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
  • Identify leads, develop proposals, respond to RFPs and negotiate agreements direct to UK merchants, to maximize network acceptance.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to close deals.
  • Strategically identify and create innovative business cases to win new merchant acceptance deals with internal stakeholder buy-in (Pricing, Risk, AML, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and gather feedback from customers or prospects to identify, develop, and implement new sales opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships to maintain and grow account relationships with internal and external partners to meet volume and revenue goals.
  • Participate in industry exhibitions and conferences.
