Senior Ecologist - Bristol (Hybrid Working)

Permanent Full-time 30,000 - 40,000 DOE

Our client, a leading environmental and infrastructure consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their growing team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role on a variety of ecological projects across infrastructure, utilities, and development sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and deliver ecological surveys and assessments, including Phase 1/UKHab, protected species, and habitat assessments.
• Prepare, review, and contribute to high-quality ecological reports and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
• Provide expert ecological advice to clients and project teams, ensuring compliance with UK wildlife legislation and best practice.
• Lead and mentor junior ecologists, supporting professional development and team growth.
• Liaise with regulators, local authorities, and stakeholders to support project delivery.

About You

• Degree (or equivalent) in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Significant experience in ecological consultancy, including project management and report writing.
• Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and policy.
• Membership (or eligibility for membership) of CIEEM.
• Protected species licence(s) desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead fieldwork.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
