Job summary

Aureos Energy is seeking electrical (Primary) design engineers for substations, specializing in battery energy storage systems. You will lead and deliver electrical system layouts, equipment designs, and related documentation across renewables, storage and transmission projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent.
• BSc/BEng or equivalent desirable.
• IEng or CEng chartership status desirable.
• Experience using CAD tools and BIM environments.
• 5+ years in substations design.
• 8+ years for Senior title.
• 12+ years for Principal title.
• Knowledge of HSE statutes.
• Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, batteries, cabling, earthing and lighting standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety by design and participate in hazard reviews.
• Carry out site surveys and coordinate with site teams.
• Review and propose concept and base designs from tender info.
• Design and review general arrangement diagrams, layouts, earthing, elevations, and single line diagrams.
• Create design and equipment specifications and PD documents.
• Ensure delivery inline with KPIs and project timelines.

Aureos Energy are looking for electrical (Primary) design engineers for substations, with emphasis on battery energy storage systems, to lead and deliver the electrical system, plant, layout and equipment designs. Duties and responsibilities

• Actively drive safety by design and contribute to hazard review meetings.
• Carry out site surveys and coordinate work with site teams as required.
• Review and propose concept and base designs based on tender information.
• Design and review of general arrangement diagrams, substation layouts, earthing layouts, elevations, CDM drawings, cable routes and containment, single line diagrams, AC & DC installation drawings and studies.
• Create design and equipment technical specifications.
• Work on PD documents pack.
• Ensure performance is in line with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for on-time delivery, requirements management and right-first time.
• Ensure design work is delivered to the expected quality and meeting KPI targets.
• Ensure design work is delivered on-time as per the project timelines.
• Ensure design work is delivered in line with the projects work information and employer requirements.
• Ensure design work is delivered in line with applicable standards and specifications.

Skills, experience and qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent is a minimum.
• BSc., BEng. or equivalent is desirable.
• IEng or CEng chartership status is desirable.
• Experience in using CAD tools and working in BIM environment.
• 5+ years experience in substations design.
• 8+ years experience for Senior title.
• 12+ years experience for Principle title.
• Knowledge of HSE statutes.
• Knowledge of general electrical works standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, batteries, cabling, earthing and lighting standards and regulations.
