Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Carrying out the Pricing-owned projection of ultimate claim costs in Python, using the latest transactional claim data, insight from other teams, and your own experience and judgement to contribute to the Pricing Best Estimate.
  • Developing our projection methodology to reduce and quantify uncertainty, and to provide the best baseline for inflation forecasting.
  • Build claims risk models in Emblem.
  • Track mix changes using Radar or equivalent.
  • Leading ad hoc analysis into emerging claims trends, exploring both external and risk-mix drivers of change.

This role reports into the Motability Pricing Lead and will be working alongside colleagues in London, Leeds and Liverpool.

Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. When you'll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 50% of their time in the office.

What you'll need:
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to explain findings to both a technical and non-technical audience.

Plus, some of the following skills, along with a willingness to learn the others:

  • Experience of carrying out claims reserving analysis
  • Experience with SQL and Python
  • Experience of Motor
  • Experience of statistical modelling (GLM/GBM, Emblem/Radar)
