Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Youth Justice Team to work full-time based in Haringey.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £49,890 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  • To provide direct line management to a team of youth justice support workers with specific areas of responsibility, ensuring effective service delivery and high levels of performance.
  • To lead on the development of specialist interventions across the youth justice service in conjunction with partner agencies.
  • To model high-quality professional behaviour and to develop and promote notions of authoritative practice within the service.
  • To carry a small, highly complex caseload of young people and families subject to formal youth justice disposals.
  • To undertake regular quality assurance processes in relation to case work and other youth justice areas of practice.
  • To undertake duty manager responsibilities on a rota basis.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case records in line with Departmental policies and procedures.
  • To offer case advice, mentoring, coaching, and guidance to others in the service as required, including co-working, joint visiting, assistance with assessment, planning, and delivery processes, and court reports.
  • To support the development of a service consistent with models of partnership working with other agencies and children and their families, and to work with an emphasis on reducing first-time entrants, reoffending, and the use of custody.
  • To ensure that protection and safeguarding concerns are central to all youth justice practice and service development initiatives.
  • To take responsibility for your personal professional development by maintaining and developing relevant skills and knowledge of current legislation, policy, and social work practice through self-directed learning and via formal PQ route.
  • To work with the Head of Service, Service, and Team Managers in managing the development of the service, ensuring it continues to improve and responds to changing need.
  • To undertake any other temporary duties consistent with the basic duties and/or objectives of the post.
Requirements:
