Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join the South Locality Team on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. You will hold a small caseload, support performance, and lead practice as part of the locality management team.

The role requires a registered Social Worker with Social Work England, at least three years post-qualification experience in Adult Social Care, and a strong commitment to personalised and outcome-focused care. Travel across the county is essential.

The Role

Herefordshire Community Wellbeing is actively seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and professionally confident Senior Practitioner to join our welcoming and supportive team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the South Locality Team for a Senior Practitioner on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

You will hold a small caseload, and be supported to make evidence-based decisions, working as part of the locality management team to support performance and lead practice.

What will you be doing?

You will have scope to practice alongside a variety of customer groups and a whole spectrum of people with health and social care needs, such as mental health, learning disability, physical disability, frailty and Safeguarding. We will also support you to build and develop identified specialisms and maintain your professional development.

You may already have supervisory experience and are looking to make the next step. If you are a qualified social worker with relevant experience of Strength Based working under the Care Act 2014 and registered with Social Work England, we would be keen to hear from you.

You will need a strong commitment to personalised and outcome focussed practice, with a sound knowledge base about adult social work, strong interpersonal and organisational skills, a developed understanding of social care practice, legislation and knowledge of incorporating community assets into service provision.

Herefordshire is a rural county and the ability to travel is essential to the post.

About You
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Hold a Social Work qualification.
  • At least three years post qualified experience in Adult Social Care.
  • Experienced in line management and supervision.
  • Experienced in undertaking person centred, asset based, outcome focused assessment, care management and review.
