About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Social Work Academy at Peterborough City Council. This is a pivotal role supporting the development of newly qualified social workers (ASYE) and mentoring less experienced team members. You will play a key part in shaping the future of social work practice through supervision, coaching, and assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and Practice Educator support to ASYE social workers under the direction of the Team Manager.
  • Carry a complex caseload appropriate to your qualifications, experience, and competencies, with a high degree of autonomy and regular supervision.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced staff, promoting best practice and continuous professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with service users and their families to assess needs and deliver appropriate services.
  • Ensure all work is carried out within the legislative and procedural framework of Peterborough City Council.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social work practice and contribute to the development of the Social Work Academy.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
