Role Overview

Neway International have a vacancy for a Senior Practitioner to join the Children’s Services team based in Birmingham Children’s Trust.

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Practitioner to join their Children’s Services team. This temporary role is ideal for a qualified social care professional with at least four years’ experience, ready to take on complex casework and contribute to high‑quality practice across the Trust.

This vacancy arises due to recruitment challenges and offers a chance to work within a service recently rated GOOD by Ofsted, reflecting the Trust’s commitment to excellence and child‑centred care.

Hours per Week: 36.5

Working Hours: 08:45 – 17:15

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex casework involving children, young people, and families
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced social workers
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and best practice standards
  • Promote effective multi‑agency working and partnership approaches
  • Contribute to performance management and quality assurance processes
  • Represent the Trust in meetings and collaborative forums
  • Support the Team Manager with service delivery and operational needs
