Job summary

Friary House Surgery is seeking a motivated Sister/Lead GP Practice Nurse to manage the nursing team and lead infection prevention and control across the practice. You will oversee chronic disease care, provide vaccination services, run well-woman/man clinics and support safeguarding and emergencies.

The role requires NMC registration as a Registered Nurse with primary care experience, ability to lead a team, and to work within a senior multidisciplinary team with prescribing under PGDs.

Qualifications

• NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in primary care/GP practice.
• Experience in infection prevention and control.
• Experience leading a nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the practice nursing team including nurses, HCAs and phlebotomists.
• Lead infection prevention and control, including audits and training.
• Produce the annual infection prevention and control statement.
• Develop care management programmes for frail and housebound patients.
• Oversee chronic disease clinics and implement individual treatment plans.
• Develop and run well woman and well man clinics; vaccination programmes.
• Maintain clinical records and support safeguarding and emergencies.
