Job summary

HDR UK Glasgow office is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to lead transforming power infrastructure projects. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, perform detailed power system studies, and liaise with clients to deliver high-quality, compliant designs for complex substations and renewables integrations.

With 10+ years in power system studies and familiarity with DIgSILENT, IPSA, ETAP, and PSCAD, you will mentor staff, drive QA, and contribute to business development while leveraging

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master's degree is highly desirable.
• Chartered status preferred.
• 10+ years in power system studies; strong knowledge of HV substations and renewables.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and project delivery from concept to detailed design.
• Coordinate across multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
• Perform and review power system studies: load flow, short circuit, stability.
• Mentor junior staff and support project lifecycles.
• Ensure compliance with UK Grid Code and industry standards.
• Support business development and client engagement.
