Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a commercial environment.
• Understanding of DFM, mechanics, and PCB layout.
• Chartered Engineer status is desirable.

• Design of critical power components for new products.
• Develop analogue, digital, and electronic circuits for power electronics.
• Interact daily with engineers from multiple disciplines.

Skills

Proficiency with SPICE circuit simulation tools

Strong understanding of thermal design

Experience with SMPS

Are you an experienced Power Electronics Engineer looking for your next opportunity to work on developing real products vital in key industries like automotive & automation?

My client is looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their advanced R&D team, developing new products from concept to manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Design of critical power components for new products & designs
• Design and develop analogue, digital, and electronic circuits and systems for power electronics
• Explore emerging technology in the field, innovating ways to incorporate that into designs and products
• Daily interaction with engineers from multiple disciplines to ensure solutions are a good fit with the drive architecture

Technical Requirements

• MEng or MSc in Power Electronics or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience in a commercial environment
• Proficiency with SPICE circuit simulation tools
• Strong understanding of thermal design, DFM, mechanics, and PCB layout
• Strong understanding of/experience with SMPS

Desirable Experience

• Charted Engineer status
• Ability to build prototypes, experimentation on systems and bench test
• Thermal, mechanical or EMC for motor drives
