Job summary

Atos, via hackajob, is seeking a PostgreSQL database administrator to own and maintain the core data structures in a Postgres application across environments. You will work with the development team to define the data model for new data feeds and ensure performance and security of the database.

Hybrid work model is offered, with emphasis on ownership, collaboration with data engineers and data scientists, and ongoing optimization of data structures and migrations across environments.

Qualifications

• Experience as PostgreSQL DBA with core development and maintenance.
• Strong data modelling skills for data feeds.
• Experience with clustering, partitioning, backups and security controls.
• Ability to work with data pipeline engineers and data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the application PostgreSQL database cluster across environments.
• Monitor and tune to optimise PostgreSQL database performance.
• Handle migration of data structures across database instances, including to offline environments.
• Own the data models and manage the lifecycle of data sitting within the Postgres database.
• Work closely with data pipeline engineers & data scientists to ingest a wide range of data sources.
• Manage security controls across environments, including defining roles & permissions, as well as RLS controls for the data.
• Work with the infrastructure team to configure installation and patching of the databases across all environments.
