Together, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Postgraduate Research Officer who will make a substantial contribution to the effective support and ongoing development of our research student portfolio. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career in higher education or within a research-led environment. As a Senior Postgraduate Research Officer, you will provide essential administrative support to postgraduate researchers as they progress through their PhD studies, helping to ensure the effective management and delivery of research degree programmes.
The position is wide-ranging, involving responsibility for various administrative processes across the student journey - from pre-enrolment and induction through registration, progression, and graduation. You will work with a range of university systems, including student record databases, virtual learning environments, and financial reporting tools, applying best practice to maintain data accuracy and resolve issues as they arise.
Collaboration is a key aspect of the role, as you will work across both the School of Education, Communication and Society, as well as the Policy Institute. You will engage with both academic and professional services colleagues within the faculty as well as with central teams such as Admissions Research Student Records, and the King's Doctoral College.
This is a part-time post (21 hours per week) and you will be offered an indefinite contract. The role operates on a hybrid basis, with time split between remote working and on-site attendance at our Waterloo campus (ECS) and Melbourne House (the Policy Institute).
